Bamwor Indexes are original composite metrics created by Bamwor to provide unique analytical perspectives on countries and cities. Each index combines publicly available data from the CIA World Factbook and GeoNames into a transparent, reproducible score with full methodology documentation. Indexes are recalculated quarterly.
IBEU — Bamwor Urban Scale Index
Measures how dominant the largest city is relative to the country’s total population.
Higher = more dominant largest city
IBCP — Bamwor Population Concentration Index
Measures how much of a country’s population is concentrated in its 5 largest cities.
Higher = more concentrated in top 5 cities
IBDA — Bamwor Settlement Density Index
Measures how many populated places exist per 1,000 km² of land area.
Higher = more settlements per area
IBCX — Bamwor Country Complexity Index
A composite score measuring a country’s structural complexity based on population, territory, cities, and administrative divisions.
Higher = more structurally complex country
All Bamwor Indexes are computed from public data (CIA World Factbook + GeoNames) using transparent, documented methodologies. Each index page includes the complete formula, variable definitions, and limitations.
